The Challenge:

As one of the premier preschools and after school programs in the area we are looking for individuals who have a passion for working with children, are dedicated to providing the best options of engaging after school programs to choose from, including choices from all enrichment program experiences outside of the normal school day. By offering engaging, rewarding programming for school agers, PFLC After School and Camp program aims to improve performance by focusing students’ relationships with peers and provide enrichment opportunities. This individual will join a team that is performing meaningful work in a culture that welcomes innovation, encourages creative expression and offers limitless potential for personal and professional satisfaction.

Job Duities:

• Under the direction of the After School Site Director, the counselors will provide an excellent program of care and enrichment for school age youth with high energy
• Teach the basic skills of various programs to campers in a safe and respectful manner
• Assist in the social adjustment of campers through positive group experiences
• Act as a positive role model while providing consistency in leadership and guidance
• Stimulate creative growth and development
• Responsible for the safety of campers at all times including enforcement of camp rules and regulations
• Arrive at camp on time to start shift and complete shift before leaving
• Keep proper records as required
• Show consistent support towards other staff members and respect personal property. Build and maintain enthusiasm in all groups
• Check group attendance each morning and report absences to Camp Director
• Report all program changes and equipment needs to the Camp Director
• Report to the Camp Director any difficult or unusual situations. Share problems with the Camp Director so they can be solved. Facilitate proper group behavior at all times
• Maintain all equipment used for program in good working order
• Attend and participate in all staff trainings and meetings
• Participate in activities with campers
• Other duties as assigned to support the mission and vision of Phase Family Learning Center

Schedule:

Monday – Friday (8-hr. Day shift; Flexible scheduling)
